If there's a long line at the bar, and delaying dinner, we will close for a few minutes to keep the night rolling, and let guests know it will be open after wedding party introductions. Once people hear that it will be open again shortly, they quickly get their seats, and the introductions can begin.
Note: The reason this happens is that at most venues the bar is closed during dinner, so people have learned to "stock up" for dinner.
Guidance: occasionally couples direct the bartenders to shut down the bar during dinner. It puts the bartenders in an awkward situation when this happens, having to refuse service. In reality, the bar is not frequented that much during dinner, and it is easier to simply keep it open.
