Option #1: Hire a full service caterer who specializes in weddings.
We recommend starting your search for a great caterer by reaching out to the caterers on our recommended list. Caterers on our list have consistently done a great job taking care of couples on wedding day and throughout the process of planning their wedding. We’ve found that about 90% of our couples choose this route.
Option #2: Hire a caterer to provide the food and a separate service company to provide the service personnel.
This is another great option. We’ve had many couples bring in food from a restaurant and then hire a separate service company to provide the service personnel for the wedding. We’ve found that about 10% of couples choose this route.
There are a lot of different ways to do this, though one of the most critical elements is selecting a great service team to provide service throughout the night. We have two approved service companies on our list.
The service company we most highly recommend is Twin 2 Me. Laura and her team have done a great job serving weddings as small as 40 up to 300+!
As for restaurants providing servers, we have found (after 20+ restaurants,) that they don't know how to staff weddings which causes confusion (and more work) for you on your wedding day. Do yourself a favor and book a great service company so you can relax on your wedding day.
Looking to do something a little different than described above?
Let us know as early as possible so we approve your caterer and help provide them with all the necessary info from the beginning, prior to you booking them.
If you would like to use a different caterer or service team, please reach out to us and let us know. All other catering options must be approved.
We’ve seen a lot of caterers who have done a nice job who are not on our list, and some who haven’t done a great job.
The catering approval process is our way of helping make sure your catering and service team are prepared to delight you and your guests on your wedding day.
Service staff must be professionals and your wedding must be fully staffed for all serving requirements. Friends and family are not a solution. Trust us, those friends are not very good at moving tables and chairs, taking out the trash, clearing tables, mopping up spills, serving coffee, picking up drinks, etc.
Wondering why this is important?
Bottom line, our service requirements are really the same as yours. It’s your wedding and having a great service team will help make the night fantastic for you and your loved ones!
